Alberta Health Care covers yearly routine eye exams for children from birth until they turn 19. Optomap images are recommended for kids age 5 and up and are typically done every 2 years.
For seniors age 65 and over, a portion of annual eye exams is covered by Alberta Health Care. Optomap and OCT images are recommended annually for seniors.

Medically necessary eye exams are also partially covered by Alberta Health Care for patients of all ages.

We can direct bill the following insurance companies depending on individual policies. We recommend that all patients check their insurance coverage prior to visiting the clinic.
